So when the next new hire class takes place would it be a split between the classic and the 400? Or one over the other? Sounds like the 400 is short staffed. Would this mean more and more guys and gals moving over to the 400, and any new hire would go to the classic?

That is too hypothetical to even waste time pondering at the moment.

As new airplanes come on property, there would more likely be a lot of movement to the 400. The classic flying is scaling back and I would guess that they will let the staffing adjust itself out on the classic, but if it would drop to a certain level they may hire off the street. If Connie picks up numerous aircraft in a short period of time, you could see hiring! Just my .02

My personal thought is that we will be only adding 400s in the future however as the Classics are paid for, they will fly as long as there is time left on the airframe. I think it is not possible to guess what we will be hiring into but my guess is the 400. It is a great job! The best job I have had!

Having said that, I heard a rumor of two more classics. It was told to me as a fact but out of all of the thousands of factual rumors I have heard only the bad ones came true. But if the Classic can still turn a profit, Connie could get them cheep!

I doubt seriously we would buy any more classics but there are 1 maybe 2 of the NWA birds that are locked and cocked ready to come out when needed. I would suspect they will enter the fleet as a couple of the older birds max out. Rumor a few weeks ago was that 715 ( great flying bird ) was probably down for the count.
As for hiring... who knows.... when and if.

well count on the next few classes for the -400 going to FO's on property, there are plenty over there that want to fly the -400, 18 months freezes are up for many.
