Yes I looked at the Website. What I tried to explain is, there is no Set monthly premium for the MEC LTD supplemental plan. It is a MEC policy specifically tailored to our contract and our LTD within the contract.

The premiums increase if your monthly pay increases.

Also there is No set $$ benefit. The benefit fluctuates based on the previous 12 months salary. You make more, you pay more.

IF You make more your benefit, should you need it, is more.

Take a look at the Pilot Benefit Book (that book that came a few months ago and you threw in your bottom desk drawer) in the section labeled Disability. It explains the FedEx Long Term and Supplemental Disability plans that you receive from the company. Once you understand what you already have, you can go searching for additional coverage. With what the company provides (at no cost), you may not need any additonal coverage. Everyone's situation is different and no one plan fits everyone.

Ok, thanks. So the simple answer is no one has a premium amount on the website. That was all I wanted to know. Thanks again.

FedEx LTD premiums are calculated solely on your earnings, therefore they don't provide your annual premium. That will be blank.

Your monthly premium is calculated based on previous months earning and is calculated at .395% of your previous months earnings.

Default Denied coverage?

Hey guys

Has anyone here been denied disability coverage by the MEC provider?
I just applied and was denied due to an existing condition (herniated cervical disc).
If anyone else experienced this I would appreciate a "plan B" input.

Thanks

The premium varies, based on your age.

During the current ALPA Open Enrollment period you can apply without condition. You only have to sign a statement saying that you currently hold a FIRST CLASS medical. If you file for benefits during the first 3 months of coverage, then they go looking at medical records to see if it was a "pre-existing condition."

At least I think that was what the lady at ALPA Benefits told me ...

I'm not showing the LTD-FDX insurance that lacks a premium amount on my plan. Is that an additional insurance that I would have to sign up for with ALPA? I thought our insurance for LTD was part of the contract at 60% for 2 years and %50 there after until retirement. Obviously many of us find our disability stuff a bit fuzzy here.

Thanks,
