NO, I'm telling you there would be zero carryover credit. You'd be able to build you're line up 12hrs like now. But, no carry over with PBS.
We do the equivalent now under our current system. If a pilot has 30 hours of carryover and chooses to bid a 75 hour single departure trip at the end of the month, he gets to keep both. If his seniority allowed him to hold both trips under a Fedex PBS system and Fedex and the pilots both wanted that option, why not? It's all negotiable and simple computer programming. |

Why? Are all PBS systems identical? Is there some kind of PBS law that all airline must follow I'm unaware of?

Yea, so lets negotiate to get new a system that does what we already can do now? The only thing I need to know about PBS is that it negates our Vacation. No need to talk about anything else about PBS.
I only posted trying to understand why someone can give an absolute answer (zero carryover credit) about a PBS system at Fedex that doesn't exist, isn't currently under development and mostly like never will be. |
PBS is a De-conflicter. It will never allow trips to be placed on a line that conflicts with anything.........Vacation, Training, Carry over. Most of us love confliction for quality of life.
It is a manning efficiency tool for the Company. My guess is that with PBS the company would become instantly overmanned by a minimum of 10%, probably more like 15% depending on how hard they want to crank it up. Anyone who says it can be a good thing never worked under our system or doesn't understand our Vacation, recurrent training or Carry over system. You can put a Tuxedo and Lipstick on a Toad, but it is still a toad! Remember, if the Company proposes it or wants it, it is Very BAD for us. Just say NO and lets move on. We all know it is a deal breaker. |

We all know it is a deal breaker. All good points. Of course we did give away most of our recurrent conflict language in contract 2006 in return for capability to bid for training slots. And lots of guys defended it as hey it good the company can be more efficient, win win was the phrase I believe. Win win is how most of the defenders of C/O defend it too. So never overestimate the intelligence of the electorate. |
We should not even acknowledge the existence of PBS. Please end this thread.

Go by Larry T's office and ask him if its currently under development or not. He's been testing, evaluating 3 different PBS products.

Let them play with it all they want. Last I checked, we still get to vote it in or not. |
