What do you mean by "put on hold?" Is the furlough canceled or not? If it isn't canceled then it is still pending. I haven't read anything in the ABX CBA abotu putting furloughs "on hold."
Why would I call them when I have you to provide a direct pipeline. You obviously know even more than JH or BG.

Hmm. Putting the LOA on hold is very different from putting the furlough on hold, which is what you said the first time. Intentional misleading?

So, you're saying you run to Hete to get all your predictions? OK, first, that's not true and second, Hete would be the last person to tell you the truth. Unless, of course, you have a "special" relationship with Hete.

You guys really should quit bickering and arguing about what really amounts to...nothing. If you've forgotten (and obviously ya'll have), you're both 1224 members and are on the pilots side of the coin.
Back to the conversation at hand...
The union LOA is in limbo/on hold/whatever you call it. I do not know the union's plan regarding this and I'm sure it will vary depending on circumstances. ABX's furlough of 20 is...as of this post....still in progress and is scheduled for the end of the year (31st I believe). ABX will have to make a decision based upon DHL's choice of it/when to replace the 727 flying vacated by CCI. If replaced there would most likely be a small shuffling of cities within the network attempting to place to correct asset (i.e. a/c) on the proper route and city pair(s). IMO, if ABX is awarded any additional flying for DHL (based on 727 parking), it will be small and not enough to cover the 20 scheduled furloughs. ABX will have to make a decision on a few folks still. Otherwise, should DHL hold off on additional network capacity, then ABX will most likely continue their furlough and when business picks back up (typically 2nd Q), a recall will occur.
For the rest, Atlas hasn't parked any a/c and as mentioned, are actively seeking a limited quantity (15) of current/qualified B767 F/O's for their shiny new "short course". Just a good choice to help jumpstart their B767 cockpits by having some guys with experience to match their CA upgrades who will, mostly likely, have no B767 time.

Guys who are eligible for the short course should jump on it. If accepted, you'll jump ahead of guys who've already interviewed and are waiting for a class date.

I only wish the rest of the industry (not counting regional's) were in such a pinch and had the work/contract requiring bodies in place so quickly! I for one am not eligible as I do not have the mins required by the agreement; kudos to those that do and may get employment.
This almost reminds me of corporate aviation where operators like your experience, but wish to hire a guy with a type/time in type. Their reasons are different though as most are trying to avoid the expense associated with type-ratings and school.
While this wouldn't be a popular idea...I had hoped the agreement would have also provided for preferential interviewing for the remaining 1224 members who are not fast-track eligible.

Atlas Air Worldwide Expands CMI Service | EON: Enhanced Online News
PURCHASE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW) announced today that its Atlas Air, Inc. unit will provide operating service on intra-Asian routes for two new Boeing 767-300ERF aircraft owned by DHL Express beginning in the latter part of the first quarter 2013. Atlas Air will operate the aircraft for its sister company, Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc., linking the intra-Asian flights with Polar’s existing transpacific, all-cargo services for DHL and other customers.
The new operation represents a continued expansion of Atlas Air’s asset-light CMI (Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) service solution, which was launched in 2010. CMI is expected to be a strategic driver of company revenues and earnings and improved business mix over the next few years and beyond.
With the addition of the new aircraft to the company’s operating certificate, Atlas Air’s fleet of B767s will increase to 10 aircraft.
