Atlas Air Worldwide Expands CMI Service | EON: Enhanced Online News
PURCHASE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW) announced today that its Atlas Air, Inc. unit will provide operating service on intra-Asian routes for two new Boeing 767-300ERF aircraft owned by DHL Express beginning in the latter part of the first quarter 2013. Atlas Air will operate the aircraft for its sister company, Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc., linking the intra-Asian flights with Polar’s existing transpacific, all-cargo services for DHL and other customers.
The new operation represents a continued expansion of Atlas Air’s asset-light CMI (Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) service solution, which was launched in 2010. CMI is expected to be a strategic driver of company revenues and earnings and improved business mix over the next few years and beyond.
With the addition of the new aircraft to the company’s operating certificate, Atlas Air’s fleet of B767s will increase to 10 aircraft.

And yes ATI is one of the three ATSG airlines ergo 1/3 of ATSG
So that has everything to do with ATSG aircraft projections.

We were told from the start that Jakarta was not DHL. That of course doesn't mean DHL hasn't or wouldn't buy or otherwise take over the projected runs. We have had people actually travel there to scope out any operations issues. However, there has never been a plausible excu...er, I mean, reason given for why this contract has been pushed off again and again. I have no confidence in it's future with us, but I do work with some people who believe it's still going to happen. That was as of yesterday, anyway. Certainly not holding my breath, but at this point, a keeping little hope is always cathartic since we're totally out of control if it anyway.

Actually, I think I need to apologize. When I first saw the article I assumed it was the ATI jakarta flying that's been talked about.
I just found out that this will most likely be NRT based flying pacific rim, and all DHL. So perhaps this flying and the mythical jakarta flying are two different things.
Either way, you must admit that additional DHL 767 flying for a non-atsg airline has some relevance to this thread.
