FDX - Where is Company BB for dropping trips?
Where is the Contractually Mandated, Company provided E-mail/internet bulletin board for dropping trips and trading vacations?? Can't find it for some reason.
Thanks!
Per Section 25.A.8.
"The Company shall provide an E-MAIL/internet bulletin board for a pilot to list trips he wants to trade or drop, and vacation periods he wants to trade. The pilot may list and update the trip(s), SCH and date(s) of operation of the trip(s) or vacation period(s) he wishes to drop or trade, and, if appropriate, a method for contacting him. The Company shall delete out of date information periodically."
Thanks!

I've used it a few times, works great, especially when open time is slim to none.

if you're a alpa member in good standing there is a trip/vacation swap board on the alpa fdx mec web site. Log into the alpa site, then go to my alpa, member account, my mec, about halfway down the page, under pilot services is the icon for trip swap.

Ask any management pilot and they'll say "Why don't you just fly your line?" "Can't you just trade or drop on VIPS? It's easy, I used to do it all the time." Their lack of recent experience flying the line is readily apparent.
It's not even close to being on the company's radar screen and never will be.

Exactly my point!
MaxKts, my thoughts exactly! Why don't we have the "Contractually Mandated, Company Provided" electronic TRADE, DROP & VACATION TRADING bulletin board??
Would it be too hard to implement "Contingency Dropping" in VIPS Open Time? We should be able to ask to drop any trip on any day and, if insufficient reserves, then the trip should stay in Open Time until 12 hours before showtime (or some other agreed upon number of hours). If another pilot picks it up under Make Up, it's a win-win. If no one picks it up, you are still on the hook to operate it. Better then what we have now - nothing! 95% of the time, your trip will be snapped up.
How hard would it be for the company to comply with 25.A.8 in this way? Some simple VIPS programming and a win-win! Remember, it is just a better vehicle (then the ALPA trip trade site) to market unwanted trips.
(I appreciate the ALPA website, but let's face reality - most of the crew force doesn't peruse it on a minute by minute basis like they hawk VIPS open time! Secondarily, it's wrong to depend upon ALPA to provide an alternate, underutilized method when the Company clearly agree to provide it for us. Do you think that paragraph was added for free?? Every word has a cost!!)
The Company needs to step up and fix this ASAP.
