Default Vacation lost due to training FDX

If your vacation is in your ITU training footprint, and you finish training in OCT, and either are unable to get vacation, or choose to have it bought back, how is the max buyback calculated? Do they add 7 days x 6 hours to your 40 % number? I have three weeks vac. Or maybe 40 % of two weeks and then add the third untaken week to that?

Dont want to lose any.

Not impacted by the 40% number. You can choose to reschedule or have it bought back if in the window.

I had this happen to me when I upgraded a fews back as well. What will happen is that you may re-schedule it on top of any vacation week of someone who is jr to you and/or have ALL of your unused vacation time bought back at the end of the year. The 40% never comes into play when the company cancels it and they buy it back at your new pay rate as well.

Good luck with training

So there is no limit at all? What if your other two weeks you had taken very little vacation?

Let us know how vacation works after they quit publishing a bid pack.

You don't have to wait until Dec 31. If you are unable to reschedule due to no open slots and no one junior to you with vacation remaining in the year, you can opt to be paid the value of your vacation right away. I don't know if it's all remaining hours, or just days x 6, and the leftovers in Dec.

You can also Choose to carry over the cancelled vacation Hours into next year.

You don't get the days carried over, just the Hours. In other words you dont get to reschedule another 7 day vacation week in the next year, but you can carry over the hours.

So you could knock out a 88 hour trip with a 7 day vacation and not go into deficit.

You buy back credit next year will reflect the additional carried over hours too.

All the carry over the hours or extra above the 40% will be bought back at end of year is pre 2006 CBA.

Max buy back at the end of the year is 40% max.

You either need to reschedule your vacation or elect to have it bought back within 30 days of finishing training. Otherwise, anything over 40% will be lost at the end of the year.

I know this because I found out the hard way
