Fedex Insufficient reserves?

I tried dropping a somewhat small trip for the 777 fo seat and it replies "insufficient reserves". We don't have any open trips at all. Anyone else trying to drop have the same issue?

tried to drop 4 days of RA on 777. 20 on the list every day. Denied due to insufficient reserves.

If you put it up for grabs on the Alpa website someone will grab it.

Thanks. It finally took was approveda. Was strange - when I looked at max open, there were not any slots even listed fot the fo positions in the appropriate column. I called sched and mentioned how odd it was and on the third or fourth try, it was finally approved. Thanks again for the replies.

Could someone explain max open to me? I am trying to drop/move an RA day with 12 FOs listed and Max Open says 8 and I get Insufficient Reserves but I was able to move a day with 10 listed and a max open of 6. Please explain.

I basically spent my first 5 years as an MD-11 Capt on B-Reserve. For many of those years, EVERY VIPS SCHEDULE CHANGE request was DISAPPROVED - INSUFFICIENT RESERVES!*? It didn't pass the "common sense test." MAX OPEN didn't seem to matter? It didn't seem to matter that I was trying to move R days to a day that had less RSV coverage?

My guess is the 777 has joined the rest of Airline Scheduling. Welcome to the club :confused::confused:

Max open is just a canard that means nothing. The schedule computer uses an algorithm that looks at forecast reserve utilization, based on historical data.

After it approves your drop or move, the human scheduler wipes the crumbs of his donut off his chin and presses the DISAPPROVED INSUFFICIENT RESERVES
button.

Add the Airbus to the list! No reserve drop/swap capability and some days have more than 30 folks on the list. Maybe we should define "insufficient reserves" in the next CBA and/or get some better language for dropping R days!

This. One of my personal show stoppers this go around. If "Insufficient Reserves" is not adequately dealt with in the next TA, so that we won't be "reasonably denied" the ability to move or drop 'R' days or drop trips, it will be an automatic "no" vote for me.
