FDX Posting 13-04 Practice Bid

Looks like the 767 went more senior than the 777... In both seats!

No shock there...Wide body pay, domestic, with a good chance of bidding to be bumped for along time to come....yep.

Not sure how much bumping will be going on. If all training can be done in a 757 how much IOE has to be done in the 767?

Well, good point.

To illustrate the seniority point, I've been here 8 years this month and can't hold the right seat. Also, my relative seniority would be less in ANC now than it was 3 months after I got to ANC in '06.

Times, they aren't a changin...

Disclaimer: Lucky guy, love my job, fortunate to be here, yada...

Sure they are. 13-03 added 100 seats to the 757 F/O list. And after 13-04 practice 1, my seniority has moved .6%. Down. But, I'm buckling my seat belt and hanging on for the ride.
At this rate, I'll be a captain just in time for my 70th birthday. In 2037.

There is a reason we wanted 2 bid packs and it wasn't to help out the NB guys. Hey we will all have a shot at being senior, just some of us wont have as much time at the top as others. The good news is they have to buy up the lines to 68 (unless they decide not to).

Very True!

Why was there movement to the 76 from the 77, 75, and MD11...but only secondaries in the 77?

Unfortunately, the Company gets to decide if there will Secondaries or not. Several 777 Captains will be retiring in the coming year or two which might account for the 777 secondaries.

Remember the 767 is a New Aircraft and with this recent Bid was the only aircraft with vacancies. The 70 seats had to come from somewhere.

The 757 was apparently filled up with the excess bid fallout.

If you look at the names on the practice bid, several are LCAs and flexes from the 300, and 757 as well as 777.

For the future, it appears the MD-11 & A300 at FDX are finished growing for now, unless UPS decides to sell us their MD11s and A300's :)

For the foreseeable future, I only see the 757, 767 and 777 to have vacancies in future Bids and maybe an FDA, hopefully the Company will choose to fill more secondaries in the future.
