FDX APR disputed pairings
less than 5 minutes into open time and 5 out of 10 757 CA disputed pairings are gone. One was on a secondary line. 30 minutes into and 6 out of 10 gone.

One swell 757 Capt picked up two DP's. But it's ok because everybody will hang out with him. Wouldn't want someone to feel uncomfortable just because they're a bunch of one-ways... Wish I could fly with him. Polite question followed by ostracization..

Not a single one picked up, in either seat, in CGN. The BUD disputed pairing is still at 100% flown by reserves after many months in the bid pack. It gets expensive to fly two guys over from MEM to cover one week-long pairing, but it's still there, for now.
It seems that in MEM there are so many pilots, that the guys who pick these up, are able to get "lost in the crowd". In smaller bases like CGN and, from what I understand, ANC, one has to face the other guys, and look them in the eye. One has to face the consequences of one's actions among the peers on a regular basis.
It's a shame that they are picked up so frequently in all seats, on all fleets. Is the DP process being addressed in these negotiations? It is definitely a less-than-perfect process that could use some help.

Most guys don't care. I recently flew one leg with a front end crew that was on an 11 day DP. FO got it on reserve. Captain picked it up (not his first.) It was the last leg, I asked the FO if he had been doing a sleep log, if he knew it was a DP, etc. He didn't care. Didn't do a log. Didn't care the captain picked it up. That's typical.
The folks here seem to care, but we are the "twelve angry men." Most guys are apathetic. Don't forget our motto- "it's all about ME!"
