FDX - 727 Vacation
Anyone know what happens if you have vacation when there is no bid pack for your seat? Do they just automatically take 6 hours for each day? Any ex-DC-10 guys remember how that went?
Thanks,

A different but maybe related issue ...
I vaguely remember something about nonqual'd (NOQ) DC-10 guys (not qualified due to no landings in the last 90 day) ... not being able to bid for vacation because you don't accrue next years vacation if you are NOQ. Or ... something like that?
Anybody else remember that?

There was a grievance over this when it happened to the DC10 and there is an agreement in place that essentially deducts a percentage of your hours instead of all of them (as if you got a VTO line). Call ALPA they can give you details but I recall the percentage as being 75-80 of your hours.

Thanks. The issue was settled for the DC-10 as Grievance 09-08 (link on the Grievance Committee web page). The company took 78% of the full value of the vacation scheduled. The settlement was considered "non-precedential and non-referable", so it does not necessarily apply for the 727.
