4 jets leave in the afternoon, as opposed to at least 6 now. Looking for morning numbers and also arrivals.

4 departures total?
~130 Captains / ~150 F/Os (after the latest bid takes effect)

Snap shot of a typical day this week:
5 Departures to/6 inbounds from lower 48
4 Departures to/4 inbounds from Asia

Not all these aircraft are ANC based MD-11 aircraft, some are MEM 777s. Also, some of the MD-11s might be flown by MEM crews.

But, that's the current level of activity in/out of ANC right now.

Anyone have the strictly MD-11 #s for ANC and how it has changed recently? Things seem busy in Narita and Osaka, maybe we can skim some second day freight from the 777.

ANC isn't just a fuel stop / crew change. It's also a major sort facility. I've yet to see an MD-11/10, B-777, or A300/310 pass through ANC without opening the cargo doors, off-loading cans, and loading cans.

Until that starts happening, I think it's status as a thriving crew base is pretty safe.

Big. No more ramp tower in Newark - retirement buyouts. For the ANC guys no more SEA. The ramp folks in ANC are in the know about serious cuts. Ask them for a fair assessment.
