"Flex, the company already know PIBS is a non starter. But, they are still going to go through their paces and present it. The thing you need to remember is that this is business,it's not personal. At least, this is the way I look at it."

"Because the rules of the game are the Neg. Comm. has to sit and listen to "Their" side. it's called bargaining in good faith. At any future immpasse we have to be able to point to our barganing history and say "We listened and worked for a solution but....". The only way to hold the line on PBS is exactly what we are doing.....THE MEMBERSHIP is sending and has to continue to send the unequivocal message "We Will NOT Ratify ANY agreement that contains PBS, Period". Then during these current negotiations the NC can shrug and say "Hey we can talk till the cows come home about PBS....It won't ratify". Thus making it ( from us) a dead issue."

OK, OK.....I get it.....it still p!sses me off, but I get it. I'll go take my meds now......

If we are adamant enough in our refusal to play ball with PBS, why not let the company know right off the bat that there is no need to continue until PBS is gone. They can pitch whatever they want, in whatever format but what it boils down to is a "NO" vote if PBS comes into play. So again I ask, why do we keep spinning our wheels? This could drag on for awhile.......

We agree.

Somebody needs to tell the Negotiating Committee:

Negotiating Committee Supplement

Dear Fellow FedEx Pilots,

By now, you should have had the opportunity to read the Negotiating Committee update. One item that I would like to highlight is PBS:

Following the Company proposal on Section 25, we held an MEC conference call. Below is a summation of the MEC’s PBS discussion:

· It was not a surprise. Over the last decade, FedEx has tried to get our buy-in to anything that would resemble a PBS.
· PBS has been studied several times over the past several years. Each review revealed significant risk to our pilots.
· PBS, in any form, requires a level of trust that does not exist today. It also requires certain programming keys be given to ALPA which the Company has steadfastly refused to do.
· Nothing in the Company proposal makes us believe that this should be entertained.

To be clear - We, your MEC, Negotiating team and Officers, are not entertaining PBS. It is a non-starter.

In Unity,

Captain Scott Stratton
FedEx MEC Chairman

The Officers’ Commitment to You:

Do what is in the best interest of FedEx pilots always.

Do it in the most transparent manner possible.
Communicate clearly, honestly, and often.

We won't cross French picket lines, we'll go around them and take our ops to Cologne.

Avoid confrontation, avoid controversy, play nice and they'll take care of us. Don't want to wrinkle that Brooks Brothers jacket.

In their defense, if everyone honored French picket lines, the world would stand around with their thumbs up their backside most days. I think you could throw a dart at a calendar and hit a day someone is on strike in that country.

Their picket lines seem about as effective as the Maginot line.

Notice our Paris ramp always strikes in June when the weather is nice (by their standard)? I don't think this is a co-inky-dink. When the strike in January, we'll know they're serious.

If they want my support they can load my $^$%^ bags.

21-year-old Japanese girls can do it, but it's too hazardous in CDG....
