I like buyups. nothing like getting paid to sit at home.

When is 767 training for you?

I'm generally OK with the concept of less pay for less work but ...

That's not what being on Reserve during 4a2b is! It's actually less pay for the same work (still 15/19 days for less pay). Bad deal!

Technically, some time after they start paying me. We bid for differences training in the Sep view add window.

So with FedEx not hiring until (2014?) are the apps on file still good and worth updating or will they begin the process all over again when hiring resumes?

FedEx changed the hiring system a few years ago ... I've heard that under the 'old' system they wanted to see periodic application updates. It certainly couldn't hurt to keep your information up to date (more hours / more PIC time!). It makes it look like you're still interested.

Thanks Mark. I figured I would keep it updated. Just wanted to see if there was any word that the apps would still be considered once the hiring process started again.

Default Hiring in 2014...don't hold your breath.

Current staffing models plan on a reduction to 4100 pilots total through attrition (no furloughs.) That will take at least 2 years at forecast retirement levels. Heard it from a reliable source, not a bus driver.

Awesome. That's a 7.5% reduction in crew force.

Wondering what assumptions are built into those "Current staffing models"?

PBS?

If so they may be wildly inaccurate - GIGO.
