I have a plan b, don't tell anyone. I am going to buy a three d printing machine and print up a bunch of three d printers and sell them out of my garage.

That's kind of like Beavis and Butthead episode I watched once. They took the one and only dollar they had, went to the copy store and spent it making copies of that dollar. They then took their copies to the convenience store to buy nachos and soda. Didn't work out to well for them! Just saying.......

AW&ST just had an article on AM (additive manufacturing). The first baby steps are being taken now. The issue is with the material properties of the items printed. It started with realitively weak resins. Now they can make more durable items, including the gun.

I guess the real question, long term, will be the cost of the machines. Will it become cheap enough that everyone will have a machine or will they be too expensive where only speciality manufactures will have them.

A friend of mine repairs 3d printers. He showed me a plastic money clip made by one. I asked him to check on a price, maybe we could market them to pilots. He called later and said it would be over $20 apiece.

I see this as a good thing. Ups store helps you prints it and manages the shipping portion if needed and if things get bad enough then we can all sign up for concession and fly for 88k a yr like FDXLAG did.

I burned a few but with a new 3D technology I may go head and reprint them.

brownie, you've always seen things that UPS has done as "good things." It's just too bad that regardless of what "good things" your corporation does, or has done, none of them seems to have a positive effect on your crew force.
