No such thing, there are many schools of economic thought but that is not one of them. A rising economic tide will float all boats and when it goes out they are all going to be beached.

Looking at it from a purely economic standpoint, the two highest areas of inflationary pricing, education and health care, also happen to be the largest depositories for involuntary transfers.

Do you think that is just coincidence?

While it is true that a company's costs will rise, it is also true that they have been provided with a very good opportunity to place the blame somewhere else. Health insurance has been rising for years. UPS just found a nice little scape goat, which most employees will agree with and thus won't fight back.

That being said, I hope enough companies follow UPS' lead that this crap legislation can be repealed.

I can see it now, in the near future, just to keep a fraction of our current healthcare we'll be told to give something up. Who could've predicted this.

Look anyone who thinks this cut is due to Obamacare is naive. It's merely a way to easily lay blame. If you disagree then point me to direct evidence - don't tell me how "insurance must go up to insure....blah blah blah" - show me the exacts as to where it's going up so and UPS had to change. Please - it's been going up at over 10% a year for the past 7 years+ as it is - in fact, insurance rates have been increasing at a smaller rate over the past two years - for a variety of reasons but read up on it before you post this drivel.

But hey you're having exactly the kind of reaction Fedex and UPS want you to have - feel deceived? You should.

Affordable care act is costing anyone offering a regular health insurance benefit.

Expect those benefits to be reduced to prevent the "cadillac insurance" tax.

Here is a good article to start with:

Health-Insurance Costs Set for a Jolt - WSJ.com

In 2018 FDX will be required to pay a 40% tax on health plans costing more than $10K for an individual or 28K for a family. Will that 40% come out of profits or do you think it will be factored into the pay rates in our next contract?

Feel deceived? You should, but the people who actually pay you aren't the problem.

Oops those right wing hacks at the UVA are doing the same thing.

http://news.virginia.edu/content/uni...alth-plan-year

“The modified plan will provide new options and reward those who participate in wellness programs,” Carkeek said. “But we must make adjustments or face millions of dollars in rising costs, fees and taxes that would be passed along to employees.”

Lest you think the UVA is a bunch anti Obama Racists here is what they had to say in 2010 about Obamacare:

“I am writing on behalf of the University of Virginia Medical Center to indicate our support of the health reform package pending before the House because we believe providing affordable health coverage for more citizens of the Commonwealth is critical.” [emphasis added]

This article from Time magazine is pretty enlightening with regard to health care costs in this country. Beware of the chargemaster.
