FastBid Help?

I am trying to download Fastbid from the FedEx website. It appears that I need some kind of unzip file in order to use FastBid. I downloaded the evaluation version of the unzip program and tried again. I get about a third of the way into the Fastbid install and I get the following message:

Error 1311. Source file not found. C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Local\Settings\temp\wz4f00\fastbi01. cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Then the install stops. I'm not sure what to do next. I've rebooted the computer, I can find the fastbi01.cab file, I just don't know what to do to make the install recognize it. I'm not on a server or anything, just a home computer connected directly to cable internet.

Anybody with any ideas on how I can get this Fastbid program to work?

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

What OS are you using? XP or windows 2000?

When you download the setup package file it is a self-extracting (.exe) zip file. When you dbl click on it, winzip starts and asks you where you want to unzip the files to. Accept the default which is c:\FASTBID_INSTALL. After it finishes then go to My Computer and select the c drive then the above folder there. Inside it is the setup.exe file that you need to dbl click on to install the program.

Windows XP.

Thanks, I will try that.

Hot dang, it looks like that worked.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again.

Wow: That was fast. I guess that is why it is called Fastbid. I hate to answer my own posts but anyway, I was just able to sort through the 200 or so lines and bid them in CR order. Very quick and painless. I had to stumble through it because I don't know how it works too well, but I was able to get 183 line choices (with any secondary and any reserve in there at the appropriate points) and it even showed up in VIPS.

Pretty sweet deal.

Nitefly if you developed all of that on your own you must be some kind of genious.

Thanks again for the help.

Jim,

Any chance you might be expanding your program to MAC's?

I wish.. i looked at it awhile back but the two development languages / environments are totally different. It would be a major undertaking to say the least. Any MAC maniacs out there with some talent at programming willing to try i'd be happy to share source with..
That said, my next desktop is going to be an iMac so i'll keep looking at it.

I'll donate this POS PC laptop to charity if anyone writes a Mac version of Fastbid ... please
