FX-Meet the future boss

Sobering. Might explain the scorched Earth method we're seeing lately (duty day, sick, mil leave, PBS, etc.)

Dan Loeb Simultaneously Solicits, Betrays Pension Funds | Matt Taibbi | Rolling Stone

I always go to Vogue for my financial advice, but Rolling Stone will do in a pinch.

Let me summarize. Big Hedge Fund (boo, hisss) manager is very successful at managing pension funds. He belongs to a political organization that thinks Teachers Union defined benefit plans come at the expense of students. Lefties think it is better to find someone a little less successful managing your pension.

Now don't get me wrong I sure hope all the pension fund money Mr. Loeb has invested in FDX does not allow him too much influence.

Rolling Stone was silent on whether Mr. Loeb should be allowed to manage Defined Contribution Plan Funds.

Everybody's an expert.

OK, try this: Loeb bought $228 million worth of Fed Ex stock recently. Paulson purchased $74 million, and the infamous George Soros bought 1.5 million shares valued at $173 million.

Or, a little less than a quarter of what Fred owns after 40 years of running the place. Enough to have influence.

Here's the Bloomberg article from yesterday:

Paulson, Soros Join Loeb Taking New Stakes in FedEx - Bloomberg

My comment was not on Loeb as a potential stockholder/board member, it was on the logic of the lefty slant of the article.

For the record, again, I want neither the right wing (according to Rolling Stone) Loeb nor the Left Wing Soros running the company I work for.

Fred will determine who replaces Fred.
