FedEx PFC: On The Radar
Question. What is the over/under rule? Does it have to do with what we wear over or under our uniform?
|
Not clicking. Too busy doing other things anyway...

It's really simple. They are setting up for the arbitration that will occur when we don't accept their offer of PBS. They will try to say they worked diligently "reaching out" to us. Of course they will never admit they are making outrageous assertions. That the thing they want requires our management culture to completely change. A change that is not going to happen under any circumstance. Managers must be practicing their most naive and surprised look in the mirror for the "are you kidding me?" moment.
How the head of contract admin can preach PBS is good for us yet be ignorant of how scheduling works at FedEx tells you much about him. From ALPA - COMPASS PILOTS HAVE NEW CONTRACT Pilots at Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines have a new contract. The new six-year agreement is a combination of contract sections negotiated by ALPA and the airline, plus a handful of issues decided by an arbitrator. They have a pretty good track record in arbitration (slimy arbitrators) so they are willing to take a chance. Apparently management has come to the conclusion there is nothing to lose but all to gain by stalling negotiations. A time honored technique from some seriously old school managers. If they could just convince us of that "fact" all will be well. Do you think they respect our negotiating process? I don't. What we've got here is failure to communicate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=452XjnaHr1A Question is, can we speak in the language we know they understand? |

Those with a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or greater and a neck circumference of 17 inches would have to be tested for obstructive sleep apnea. FAA: Overweight pilots, controllers must be tested for sleep disorders - CNN.com |

Just goes to show that the legal definition of a thing, i.e. direct dealing, isn't necessarily the practical definition of a thing.

We should get used to the idea that the current CBA will be with us for awhile.
We'll squeeze them until they agree to PBS, intentionally drag out negotiations and then ask for arbitration ... heck, we might be able to drag this out for 4-5 years. We win! High 5's! We can start this plan by taking their lockers away ... that will distract them for a couple of months ... ha, ha, ha! |

BMI over 40 is the definition of huge. This is FAA mandated.

Federal Law Enforcement and Air Traffic Controllers have government regulated (required) retirement ages lower than pilots. Maybe we should negotiate for that in our next contract? |

I do think that BMI ain't a one size fits all equation, like myself. But we are talking about one of the extremes on the chart. I think the extremes on both side are more accurate than not. It's the middle that needs interpretation. |
BMI = 40 at 6 feet tall = 295 pounds

[QUOTE=FrankTheTank;1526265]Sorry. But I am extremely athletic and fall into the over 17 inch neck crowd, even though my waist is 32. But my BMI although "over weight" ain't close to 40. Those dudes are fat. Btw, my body fat is around 12%..
You sound so hot! Blue eyes? Do you enjoy long walks holding hands? Dreamily thinking of you, Anthrax |
This crap is obviously written by attorneys. Their definition of direct negotiations is attorney double speak. Use the common sense approach, if it quakes like a duck.... That's the difference between attorneys and pilots, we use common sense.

I find it hard to believe that any of us have BM's of 30...Let alone 40. I'm pretty athletic and my largest BM was about 14. With about 3 inches sticking out of the water.
