Kalitta Air now accepting FO applications

My thoughts are this.....I watched the video of the GMM and DW addressed this issue repeatedly. There are more open sections than just the duty day.
But EVEN IF it was just the duty day issue then I oppose a 24 hr duty day. I have been in ACMI for well over 20 yrs. 24 hours is too long. Period. This should not even be an issue. The FAA focked us when they allowed the cargo carve out.

I just cannot see us being released to strike of 1 issue that we did not even ask for. So, if it goes your way I will continue to work 30 hour duty days for 2/3 pay for the foreseeable future.
I see a compromise here with the company and the union, but it would only work if Wells decides to cooperate. The compromise is, that any scheduled trips, would fall under the 20 hour rule with no extensions allowed. Ad Hoc, or military trips, would be extendable to 24 hours. This would then be better than Atlas currently has regarding scheduled trips. In my opinion, if Wells balks at that I think that Decertification would be our only option.

Screwed... Its highly unlikely that the NMB is going to proffer/release over hours of service. As has been pointed out ... there were several open items, the company agreed in principle to all but the hours of service section.. thus giving cover for CA Wells to say there is more open than just hours of service because the last proposal was all or nothing from 1224 at the insistence of the head of 1224. There are three ways this could go this week... the meetings result in sanity and a TA being signed off an offered to the pilots to accept or reject, the NMB could conceivably "park" us for 6 months, the proffer could be extended ... or they could do nothing... so actually 4 things. YES..the NMB could do nothing.
Lets all hope sanity reigns and some sort of agreement is reached.

I assume by Ad Hoc you mean last minute charters.
Frankly, if your contract is settled I hope that many of the new hires coming to Atlas would then go to Kalitta.
If we can staff our flying......management is more likely to come to the table.

But when has Connie done the sane thing?
He is as bad as Del (rot in Hell) Smith.

I really like it when people call Connie " a businessman "
Connie and his little nephew are nothing short of modern day slave drivers.
The real mid seniority captain hourly rate at little Kalitta ( aka K2) is less than 12.00 and that of a first officer about 10.00
(working rotations of 16 days , 24 hours a day and your 1 in 7 could very well be on the road) and the cherry on this cake ? at times working 32 days straight followed by 12 days off at no additional compensation .
