You mean 40-months on payroll, followed by 20-months off payroll? I'm serious!
We've had 7-guys on furlough for how long now? All the while our scheduling department wastes Connie's precious play money inefficiently putting out the nearest fire because they don't have sufficient resources to properly man the operation. Don't think in the slightest that you will be treated with respect here as a crewmember. Unless Connie puts his reputation on the line and grows the flying business or opens his wallet to those that are making him rich(er), I'd be looking elsewhere. IMO, it's only a matter of time before Atlas runs over us.
On the positive side...if youre interested in working the sheet metal, engine, or lavatory servicing division there should be plenty of opportunities at the maintenance facility (seems like that's where the growth is taking place). There's only one cool cat that gets to drive the race car and plenty of monkey wrenches covered in skydrol that never get noticed.

As long as the cash comes on time and the days off are off the rest is not a big deal.
Now looking at that Atlas running over Kalitta situation... while it's not something I'd be counting on all I would say is that if the recent World and North American wind ups are anything to go off of, it's better to have 744 time than not have 744 time.

This job works for some people, and not for others, for some its an excellent fit,for others by the time they hit IOE they realize its not for them. Either way if you want to come on over, welcome. The flying is interesting, and based on the boys and girls departing for the majors the international, wide body experience is clearly not a turn off .

Contractually Kalitta only counts FE time towards upgrade (FE-FO) other than that I don't believe they will count it.

After getting furloughed from Evergreen, I had set my sights on Kalitta. But my instinct tells me that at 48, I'd better just stick with sitting behind a desk. I dont see Kalitta providing any stability, nor providing any long term earning potential.
Which really sucks, because I hate sitting behind a desk, I'd much rather be flying a 74 around the world.

Already got it and moving on! Have to admit I'm gonna miss some of it, but the last year was starting to run me low on patience. Best of luck/fortune to everyone moving forward...you're gonna need it! I'm ready to hang out with some whiny FAs instead of hopeless freightdogs. Have some respect for yourselves...
