FDX-Training Letter SlipNSlide

Maybe if they allowed us to train as planned, they wouldn't be able to fly the schedule as it is right now? Hmmm, maybe training DOES cost something. Silly me.

Good grief! Is there no contractual provision for this either?

However if they do, I believe the CBA allows you to get a 100% buy back on the vacation days which conflict --- or you can move your vacation into any vacation spot that's open, or another vacation spot your seniority could have held on the round where you were awarded the conflicted vacation.
The lady who runs vacations (MNT) is very nice, and very good in explaining all the options

They slip and slide the training dates because of that part of the contract being completely unbalanced. Unlike all other carriers I can think of which have the company decide training slot dates and the pilots bidding those dates we give the company total control over training date flexibility and flexibility in the order of the pilots training.
This is something that we should get in balance in the next contract!
They should present dates and live with it and we should bid on the dates.

How about smaller bids like EVERY other airline. Jeez, Just post a bid for 10 Capts/10 F.Os for training dates in 30 days.
Oh no, lets, post 100+ for training dates 12-18 months out and then change them 3-4 times with no crew notifications.
My training date has changed 3 times since the initial training letter and I haven't heard squat from the company. ***?

This is another classic example of the weakness of our contractual provisions. Essentially, the slip and slide destroys seniority but knocking a pilot out of his awarded vacation. And as far as being given another vacation time frame, that doesn’t work when you have already made serious plans that require the specific weeks you BID and were AWARDED.
Our swiss cheese contract routinely destroys seniority.
