They don't have a dual mandate.
Haven't for quite some time now.

Can the politics still drive agendas? Well…..it is our gov't and DC politics so you'll have to make your own decisions there.

Personally, I think the NTSB does an amazing job with unbiased mishap investigation and is among the top, if not the best, mishap investigating agency/agencies in the world.

"Sounds like she moved up"

with UPS on the Board of Directors for the National Safety council it would also appear that she was bought off.

The spin that some union loving guys come up on here and the B&G make me sick, we screwed up plain and simple. Future investigations will suffer and is just another misstep by our crack legal team!

You obviously haven't been personally involved in an NTSB investigation, have you?

The dual mandate has been gone for years. Try to keep up.

Oh BS slick brim! If the IPA was silent on this one you'd be leading the anti IPA parade. You always have and you always will. You know it and so does anyone else that knows you! Why don't you just go to management, after all, you know everything! GMAFB!

I am not suprised that this happened and I am not necessarily defending the NTSB. However, as an outsider, pilot and mechanic, I have assisted in my share of NTSB investigations and can advise anyone involved to keep it zipped; at least until the investigation is complete. As far as the NTSB is concerned, I think they do a pretty darn good job in most instances. Unfortunately, they like most other entities are not immune to outside pressure, influence and other detrimental issues. As far as the duty time carve out, I of course don't agree with it either. There are many things wrong with aviation including the multiple [selective] layers of safety that have existed for years.

Get a clue and quit thumping your chest, its unbecoming. No one is anti IPA, in fact I think we have the best union out there but unlike yourself I don't follow blindly and ask many questions and some of those questions hurt. If thats being anti union then I am guilty as charged.

No one ever said asking questions meant you were a bad union member. You didn't ask a question, you offered up fiction as fact and you have always commented very negatively on the IPA. No one is thumping their chest, I am simply calling you out on your bull**** here like others did on the B&G which caused you to take your toys and run home. Hopefully you'll do this forum the same favor.
