I wouldn't expect that they would ever back off on a training contract that's why they have one to ensnare pilots from leaving for "real" jobs (whatever that is).

Sir, you must be dreaming if you think I will give those kind of details to anyone on this site and risk losing my job. You do not understand the way a small company works. Even a hint could be the end of my career. They are under the illusion that they have the best job and no one should complain and are surprised every time someone leaves this high paying gig.
That is why no one else from Empire will say anything on here. Just look at the number of views this thread has received and compare them with the response. I would think atleast the people that have left would have the b***s to chime in.

"Bottom feeder": I was stuck at a regional feeder than fell apart and parking planes. A bottom feeder is a company who does the same line of busy as it's peers for cheap. Mesa might be argued to be a bottom feeder when compared to, Compass or Skywest. I don't see Empire being a "bottom feeder" in the category of Cargo Feeders. I find MountainAirCargo and Ameriflight in that category. For someone who has 5000 of SIC turbofan P121 time. That pilot is better off getting turbine P121 PIC time. If one can't get hired on w a Major or Legacy cus they have5000 hours of SIC and lacking PIC turbine, I don't see any other way. Bottom feeder is relative. Compare it to Ameriflight, Alpine Air Cargo, Key Lime, MAC.

Bend over: I bent over at AE. I know all about that. "I should probably upgrade next year... Dang it... Okay 1 more year I bet... Dang it parking plans... Maybe 2 years...nope. I'm an SIC life here." I'm aware of your bend over phrase.

Good airlines for my inspiration: Alaska. Delta. UAL. AA. UPS. FedEx. Hawaiian. JetBlue. Just to name a few. applied to them all. Apps have been in for years. College education. Just lacking Turbine PIC.

See the light bulb? Probably not. For each their own. My analogy of Omni B767 was just of random choosing for conversation. But my resume would be better written with ATR-42 PIC time than anymore SIC time. Take care!

I am a previous Empire FO, worked there little less than 10 years ago. Spent a very short duration there. I can tell you if you meet the mins and have a pulse you will be hired. They are hurting for Pilots.

Let me repeat what I said earlier, you will end up paying on the training agreement if you leave earlier than 18 months. TRUST ME ON THIS!!!!!!!

I know a few pilots who now have to deal with collection agencies because of the agreement.

Any company that makes you sign something saying you will stick around for xyz time frame is a dirt bag operator!

I would have to agree with the above posters giving you insight into Empire. Specially the HR lady. Real devil in disguise. She recently refused a donation request from other employees to a sick pilot employee. Who does something so low? In fact she was inspiration for my username. Asked me if I would ever leave the job and be like others with shiny jet syndrome. What a joke. Told myself that day that I need out of that company and promised not to do a recurrent there again.
Also true about the contract payback,bad training, overnight flying, little flying, captains flying with captains, sharing PIC time, low pay etc.
Mr Bgmann, you are not the only one who went through that. Sorry for the situation but unfortunately a lot of people have been stuck at regional airlines last few yrs. Lowering the bar is not the answer. And yes Empire is a bottom feeder. Specially in the way they treat their employees. Being a outsider, I don't believe you have the insight to be able to deem it otherwise.
As far as your competitiveness to majors, lots of FO's have jobs without TPIC time. Specially at Spirit, JetBlue and the likes. What have you done to add to your flying time? Any community service? How about extra curricular stuff? Maybe some creative volunteer work for your airline or the union. I'm asking since I don't know much about you. Oh and there are plenty of Capts at Empire with several thousand hrs PIC that are not able to get a job at the majors either. TPIC is a important part of the equation but not the secret ingredient by any means.

Alright I wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble I just want to be informed before I have to make any decisions about employment.
