FDX Do Not Fly List
#21
I see scheduling allowing crew members to drop trips in the assignment window so they can pick up a longer trip. This is specifically not allowed in the CBA.
I call BS on the legal excuse. They don't have a list because it's what they desire.

Which makes you wonder how they would deal with all the work required to go to PBS. They would take the cheapest and quickest path possible to get it running, except for some exceptions for those who have well placed friends. Any exploitable loophole, like the Flexes getting locked out of WB pay 757 lines, will be maximized. I can only describe this as BAD, BAD, BAD. But I digress.

I have had them allow some things in the past that helped me out.
i.e. Trading one layover city for another so I could see my kids.
The political implications of helping them in a jam is another issue.

It seems there's no "no fly" list simply because you don't have a provision for one in the CBA. Period.
A "no fly" list is typically an FO function because
1). The lines are built from one seat first then "paired" with the other seat.
2). The captain has the ability to use his leadership and CRM to promote a healthy and functional flight deck, and should set a good tone - even with the "difficult" FO's.
3). Since the FO has fewer liberties in this department, and there are "rogue" captains out there, the bid goes to the FO.

If your talking about Gunter's off topic post - well he is a special case and I don't think he will ever be completely in the game!
