Didn't you read the fine print in the Indy bid? The company reserved the right to transfer the Indy base and all assigned pilots to Hong Kong after the bid closed.

I wonder if it would be a 757 base that has some 767 flying or vice versa?

Every time a Fleet Captain is out for a meeting in HKG, they say it's coming. 18 Months ago we were told 24 months. Last meeting (April time frame I believe, it was after the IND base was announced so maybe May?) we were told, yes it will happen but with the start of IND base no time frame. Did hear from a crew bus driver in CAN last week that it will happen any day..however my Mandarin is not good, and he could have said, do you want fries with that?....

Rumors are floating that ALPA was informed or it was talked about with them...which begs the question, what do they want us to give up?

I'm sure we will find out out after the deal has been cut for us to give up something...

Cantonese my friend, not Mandarin.

And having been there myself I can tell you that HKG is a exceptional location, if one can stand to live outside the U.S.

You might have been gone a while, since they now speak Mandarin in Guangzhou...or so I been told...I stick to Chinglish...works for me...and the other 173 phrases they require to be English profient under ICAO.

Actually in CAN. They speak both Mandarin and Cantonese as Guangzhou was formally known as Canton..and Since I do live here..and I happen to speak a little Cantonese and a little Mandarin, he was absolutely asking about fries.....
