Ebola is an RNA virus. RNA viruses have a common characteristic - they mutate with high frequency. Not influenza level, but significantly more often than most.

The longer this infection is allowed to persist, and the more hosts it infects in divergent environments, the higher the likelihood that it is going to a more communicable form, or God forbid, airborne.

If that happens, the 1918 flu pandemic - where every house had someone sick, and bodies were actually stacked up on sidewalks outside houses, because the mortuaries were full up - will pale in comparison.

Ring-a-round the rosie,
A pocket full of posies,
Ashes, Ashes

We all fall down!

Best indication the crew force is concerned about Ebola - nothing but DeadHead trips sitting in open time.

At the hospital, the sheets of the patient muse be safely removed, transported and destroyed according to Level 4 Biohazard protocol.

I'm absolutely SURE that will happen with airline seats, and magazines, and tissues, etc.

Also, why are level 4 protocols on place for a non-airborn disease?

Biosafety Level 4 includes diseases which are fatal in humans for which vaccines or other effective treatments do not exist...such as Ebola Zaire.

Nothing spreads like fear...

The same people telling us not to be afraid, not to panic, and not to be "science deniers" about ebola always respond to ebola situations wearing hazmat suits. When the people telling me not to be worried about ebola stop worrying about ebola, then I'll stop worrying about ebola.

I don't get it. I don't have cable or watch Fox. Are you saying there there is no Ebola problem and the federal government will protect us all? What should the people in Dallas do? Are all the hazmat wearing medical workers being suckered by Fox? I saw a story on NBC that said government workers pulled a guy off a a flight while wearing hazmat suits for joking about Ebola. Why are state workers being hoodwinked by Faux News? Should we report them to The State and get them taken off the air? First Amendment blah blah blah, we can't have people yelling fire in a theater. Anyway, I'm glad The President was right and Ebola would not come here. If we could only get Fox to stop lying about Ebola being in Dallas we'd be good.
