Thumbs down Southern Air - - - -think twice

As TheDude in the previous posting just stated - -stay away.

If hired, you will be based in CVG on your own nickel; no home based airline ticket and no perdiem until block out.

You will be required to jumpseat on CASS; yes, on company business !!!

The former Comair management that is now managing Southern has vowed regardless of cost and problems to eliminate airline tickets and home basing for all the flight crews, including the "Gucci" crews on the 777.

Finally if hired, you will be working to strip away the hard won pay and benefits of the ABX/Airborne pilot group.

Southern crews are being used as a whipsaw for massive pay cuts aimed at the ABX group.

It is important to have a job, pay your bills and support your family and a roof over your head . . . . . . .think about.

Stay away - - - - - -far, far away.

Wright Cyclones - - - - the sound and the power of freedom !!!!

Kind of crappy jump seat too, no majors, just commuters.

I stopped paying attention a while back. Did ABX make some significant gains in their CBA since their concessionary contract from a few years ago?

Anyone know the current pay on the 73? Heard around $60 hr with a 60 hour guarantee. Any truth to 10 days off per month?
