Default Another Vac+C/O Question

Did a search on this but nothing. I knocked out a carry over trip from Nov to Dec. I know this trip has a ghost footprint in the new bidmonth (Dec). How will this be treated if awarded a reserve line and most importantly are the days of the ghost footprint considered days worked for min days off in the new bid month (Dec)? Thx

Anything that touches the ghost footprint will be dropped and eligible for makeup. You can add trips back that overlap the ghost footprint. Only days marked on your calendar as actual vacation count as workdays. I do not know if it drops the whole string of R days or just the ones that touch the ghost footprint.

What if the ghost footprint carries over into the December bid month through December 4, but I have between 0 and 1 hours of vacation time in my bank for '14? If I bid a December line that has a trip that touches that ghost footprint, would that be dropped for makeup? Is the 48 hour buffer still eligible to knock out a trip?

Yes, you'll end up with a negative vacation bank at the end of the year, which will reduce your hours for next year, but you can stay negative until the end of your career or until you have zero hours remaining for your last vacation period in a given year. That vacation will get cancelled.

Thanks Mx, but I thought that we had to have more than 1 full credit hour in the vacation bank to be able to use a vacation to go negative in the bank. Does anyone know about this?

I believe you need a positive balance (1 minute or more)

I think what he means about being negative is that you have less hours in your bank than vacation days. I am starting next year in the hole, meaning that I used more hours in 2014 than I earned. So in Jan, they will subtract those hours (12.5 in my case) from my total. I can continue to use my vacation in 2015, knocking out as many trips as I want, but in order to take my last vacation, I must have 1 min remaining. If I don't, then they cancel that vacation. If I have 1 minute left prior to that vacation, I can knock out as much as I want, and push those negative hours into 2016.

That is good information about needing at least a minute to take your last vacation or they'd cancel it. It could be a shock to have a Nov or Dec vacation cancelled over the holidays, unexpectedly.
