Motivation behind Fedex negotiation updates

Somebody put a lot of effort into crafting the company's latest negotiation updates, why? What would motivate PC and JM, to take the time and effort to post such an extensive diatribe on the state of our negotiations? It might have something to do with this year's rapidly approaching peak, and a perceived lack of available lift. Maybe they are hoping to motivate a percentage of our crew force to fly more draft. Any other ideas?

Its the same reason why the company went crying to the NMB about the crew force not flying anything extra and passing up draft, they rely on us being greedy. Same reason the union had to put out their latest emails 'warnings' not to post or promote your personal opinions, to cover all their bases.
Bottom line is the company is pulling out every tool in the bag to make sure the freight moves whether it be by scare tactics or threats. Me, speaking for myself, not promoting anything else, I know I'll be doing my part by flying my published schedule and then recovering from my night hub turns that I'm sure will be delayed every night!
Above all else, be safe out there!

That is the truth nothing is more fatiguing than a MEM Peak night hub turn when a little winter weather discourages the $8 an hour undermanned loaders to make it to the sort. You're number 18 for the beacon. Draft pay is not enough to get me to come in for that.

Direct negotiations speak volumes. PC and JM attempted to appeal to the pilots and FAILED miserably. The whole NMB process is a delay tactic and a successful one at that. Add another year but I will not be deterred.

Exactly and we shouldn't listen to the company on health care, PBS, or compensation either. Dear Fred you and your mediator can kiss our lanyards; our way or the highway. Not even sure why we need a negotiating committee. I say we vote on a contract and wait for the company to agree to it.

You guys aren't feeling that unique bond between management and the crew force? Come on, get with the program.
"There is a unique camaraderie that comes from fighting through barriers, both internal and external, and finding a way to a deal that benefits both sides."

Guess the caustic flight management behavior over the last few years is coming home to roost. BM destroyed all trust in anything coming out from management and now they want to suck up to the crew force.
