Maybe Southern's costs are too high?

Connie does everything in house, training, maintenance, everything, he has the lowest overhead in the sector, and is acquiring more 400's, amazingly the Classics too still have their niche.

For someone who wants the heavy intl time or the type, where else can u get this opportunity? Omni doesnt seem to touch you unless you are in the club and neither does Atlas, you need some kind of previous experience..

Birdstrikes is mostly dead on.

Management was hand-picked for their malice toward pilots. They are incapable of any real leadership, and have never had an original idea in their miserable lives. If they take any time to inform you of something, they are probably lying. They think they're being cute by inviting the overnighting pilots in CVG to come to a company paid lunch at Applebee's, and then pumping them for information or trying to subvert the collective bargaining process by engaging in individual bargaining. It's all right out of the Ford-Harrison playbook, to which the company subscribes.

Despite their incompetence, I don't think Southern is going out of business any time soon. The profit margin in freight is just too high, and DHL needs their convenient tools to wrangle these uppity pilots for them, and to whip-saw one pilot group against another.

Everyone's situation is unique, so I can't tell you if you should take the job or not. Life on the B777 is decent, IMHO anyone who opts for the B737 has no intention of staying very long. Spin the wheel and take your chance. If you don't want what they offer, don't take it.

Good luck to all.

DHL has already imploded twice in the US. First with DPWN buying DHL and screwing that up. Then with them buying Airborne Express and screwing that up too. What evidence do you have that they will screw up the current version of their US operation?

I could go on. Happened at least 10 times in less than 4 months.

More stories? How about the CEO showing up in your ground school and telling you that by the end of the year you'll either be furloughed or upgraded, but probably furloughed. There was a lot of drunk ground school students that night.

Got more if you'd like.

Not calling myself an expert on the matter, but not spreading any false rumors either. I have never seen such unreal mishandling of day to day operations. I've actually had to remind them where in the world I was during a trip when I sat somewhere for 9 days without any clue what they were doing with me.

Good luck.

You are lying my friend, stop spreading false rumors. I've been here over 4 years. Company mishaps with hotels and flights happen once in a blue moon, not 10 times in 3 months, and scheduling will fix it when you call them or email. You got company credit card, so stop crying.

SA had turned to worse over the past two years, but it's our fault too. With a weak pilot group, where every one is for himself, we voted in two contracts that crippled us. Now we have to pay.

I'm not your friend, and I'm not lying. I would honestly say it happened enough where I felt like it was the norm. YMMV.

I have nothing to gain from spreading false rumors.
