Technicalities... I speak American and not very well, obviously.. |
Apparently some of us (or maybe just me) who currently take military leave don't rate the "Veteran's Thanks." Unless my postman cut himself on the protruding pin and tossed the letter.

I remember when I was hired, it was a green screen question as it gave the company some sort of credit for hiring a vet. I know I put yes and I'm still waiting for my pin.

Its funny..... I was an enlisted for 4 years back in the 70's, and I got a pin. I guess the Company put me in a database somewhere.
Why wouldn't "Enlisted" count towards Veteran status? It should ... it does in my book! And ... thank you for your service :D |

And ... thank you for your service :D Just sayin.....that was 40 years ago. You got guys still in the Guard, taking leave who are current military. I would think that our PSP philosophy would acknowledge them. |
I don't think there's anything personal about who gets the letter and the pin, and who doesn't. It's merely database errors. Nevertheless, I think it's a nice gesture. Even if it's to make up for an earlier slight, I appreciate someone trying to correct a mistake. Doesn't matter what kind of paper or the printing quality, any time you thank someone for their service, it's a good thing.

Personally I spent 34 years serving our country, not because I wanted or expected someone to say: "Thanks for your service," or to receive a letter to that effect. I did it because I wanted to, and it made me feel good inside. That was all the thanks I needed. Of course, now that pension feels awfully nice, but that's another story. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my Brothers and Sisters flying the freight, and Thanks for your service. |

Like everyone else, I don't need a thank you for service and I definitely don't need a pin. The biggest thanks I could receive from FedEx would be to be treated fairly, with respect, and legally when it comes to my military service. Merry Christmas everyone! |
