By asking someone what they make….you are worried about everyone else!

Great question --- simple answer:

We make what we successfully negotiate, up to the point which the market bears

That's the "premiere worldwide, overnight, express cargo delivery market"

...and that market is very, very profitable

As a vital part of our company's product, we expect to get paid appropriately --- and share in a portion of the wealth we are creating for our company's shareholders & executives

I hope you are striving to do the same in your industry/company.

Fly Safely & Negotiate Wisely,

DLax

"Pricing Power" is an important aspect of any profitable business/industry

It's quite clear Fedex & UPS have it.

Do our pilots feel/understand that we have it?

********************************
UPS, FedEx Increase Fuel Surcharge Feb. 2

Effective today, UPS has raised its fuel surcharge rates for ground and air services, as did rival FedEx.

UPS did not signal the coming increase, other than making a general statement during an October earnings call that it would determine rates and surcharges as needed.

FedEx signaled its changes over the holidays, on a webpage that lists surcharge tables, without publicizing them.

During FedEx's second quarter earnings call last month, Executive Vice President and CFO Alan Graf said falling fuel surcharges largely offset savings from lower fuel prices.

The UPS increases range from 0.25% to 0.75%.

UPS is in a quiet period before its next earnings announcement and could not comment on the changes.

Retail shipping observers generally see these changes as a way for carriers to help the bottom line by augmenting revenue without incurring operating costs, while merchant customers bear the burden.

Except for two ground service fuel price points, the fuel surcharge increases for UPS make them slightly higher than those of FedEx:

If we can't get a FDX ALPA contract in a timely manner maybe we could earn extra money other ways?

Actually, I think prostitution is what delays us from getting a contract
