Three trucks parked at the airplane for over an hour, unable to do anything, because apparently they needed that one coordinator to work with them.

At some point they should be honest, and just call an operational emergency for Gross Incompetence.
+1 but if your friend was only "almost 2 hours" late then they got off easy. Over 3 hours for me & we weren't last. All of this for a 22 minute late "confirmed" sort down time. No deice spots open. "Defrosting" at the gate with trucks going from gate to gate in some sort of order. All being done on one frequency.

Yes, he said he was very lucky. One of the first ones out.

Makes you wonder if the defrosting in the gate is being done instead of at the deice spots. so you don't have to block out, and potentially get paid more or pulled off your next trip. Would almost be smart, if they could manage to get a few more frequencies and coordinators. What a novel idea.

Looks like another mess tonight. Freezing rain, ice pellets and snow forecast from 2300Z-1200Z. Makes me think they would have been better cutting down on the night sort instead of the day sort. If people were delayed 3-4 hours last week just because of light frost on the wings, can you imagine how bad it's going to be when everyone is asking for a full de-ice, anti-ice, with type 4? I hope everyone gets some sleep, as it's going to be a long, long night.

The dispatchers are screwing with the pairings again and not showing true show times in the pairings. I'm thinking the FAA would be interested to find out that they are retroactively shortening duty times.

Watch your duty times and their ability to use you on what should be ASTBY.

Sadly, I think the FAA is more in their pocket than we would like to believe.

I always make sure to get a screenshot of my pairing as it is assigned. Then use my handy ALPA notebook to verify my duty limits per the contract and make sure that if I get bent over I know my maximum bendage angle.

might be a good idea to take a picture of your check in screen when getting to the AOC

Default FDX memorabilia?

I didn't want to start a new thread just for this but ...

For you FDX former 727 drivers this might be cool to own?

The other alternative is that when the pairing disappears to call and tell them you understand that you are being subbed.

Well, according to the latest FCIF, the phone lines are having issues and they don't want you to call CRS, because they are busy trying to match your pairing to what GOC is doing.
