So I see they just declared another operational emergency in Memphis, for "Heavy frost" last night. Talked to someone who had an AM launch, delayed almost two hours. He said there was only light frost on the wings, there were many deicing trucks, but only one coordinator. Three trucks parked at the airplane for over an hour, unable to do anything, because apparently they needed that one coordinator to work with them.
At some point they should be honest, and just call an operational emergency for Gross Incompetence.

+1 but if your friend was only "almost 2 hours" late then they got off easy. Over 3 hours for me & we weren't last. All of this for a 22 minute late "confirmed" sort down time. No deice spots open. "Defrosting" at the gate with trucks going from gate to gate in some sort of order. All being done on one frequency.
Makes you wonder if the defrosting in the gate is being done instead of at the deice spots. so you don't have to block out, and potentially get paid more or pulled off your next trip. Would almost be smart, if they could manage to get a few more frequencies and coordinators. What a novel idea.

Looks like another mess tonight. Freezing rain, ice pellets and snow forecast from 2300Z-1200Z. Makes me think they would have been better cutting down on the night sort instead of the day sort. If people were delayed 3-4 hours last week just because of light frost on the wings, can you imagine how bad it's going to be when everyone is asking for a full de-ice, anti-ice, with type 4? I hope everyone gets some sleep, as it's going to be a long, long night.

The dispatchers are screwing with the pairings again and not showing true show times in the pairings. I'm thinking the FAA would be interested to find out that they are retroactively shortening duty times.

I didn't want to start a new thread just for this but ...
For you FDX former 727 drivers this might be cool to own?

Well, according to the latest FCIF, the phone lines are having issues and they don't want you to call CRS, because they are busy trying to match your pairing to what GOC is doing.
