Turbotax
Anyone hear of any good deals on turbotax this year?
I think last year I found the best deal thru the company lifeworks. Just looking for a good deal if anyone knows of one. Thanks! K. |
USAA and Fidelity both offer decent discounts. I'm pretty sure that you can get the Fidelity discount without having an account there.

bid an FDA you'll get "free" tax help

there was a groupon for H&R Block taxcut so maybe one for turbotax too.

Thanks!
Thanks for the replies!
I also found that we get a discount thru Vanguard. Schwab also has a discounted price. Lowest price I have found so far is 24.99 for the deluxe -- seems to be the same for fidelity or vanguard or schwab. Thanks again! |

If the deluxe is not really deluxe, would H&R be the better way to go? Anyone have any insight to that? I always use turbotax because it has all of our information already stored. Thanks again.

By your statement "it has all of our information already stored", I assume you mean from one year to the next, so you don't have to input much of your data. If that's the case, you should be ok with Taxcut, because they have the ability to take you last years tax return, that you created using TurboTax and import everything into this years Taxcut. Personally, I use TurboTax because I've found it a little easier to work with, but I've used Taxcut in years past and liked the fact that you could have the H&R Block folks check it over.

Beware the "Deluxe" version. It no longer will handle your Schedule D stuff as it did last year. TT now forces you to ante up for the "Premium" package.

I prefer the CD version of TurboTax over the downloaded version. I don't use the online only versions because I want to be able to open previous tax returns with the version they were created with, just in case that were ever necessary.
For what it's worth, I bought the current retail version of TurboTax Premier from Amazon for less than $70 including shipping. You can use it to prepare unlimited returns and it includes 5 free federal return electronic filings. |
