Jepp Flite Deck Pro App (FDX)

Heads-up to Purple guys: just found a bug in my Jepp FD Pro App that was showing most of our international destinations as "charts not available". I just got of the phone with iPad Support, and the technician told me he saw several other tickets with the same issue.

The fix appears to be to uninstall, reinstall, re-register, redownload all the data. Might want to check yours while you still are in a place with a good WiFi, as this is taking an hour from my home network...

So many questions ... hmmmm ...

So ... does that mean our International flights might take off without proper charts for their route and destination?

What would the FAA have to say about that?

Is CRS going to revise our show time (on duty time) 2 hours earlier so that we can update our iPads? Will the "spare" iPads on the airplane have the same problem? Will they have the iPad support folks in the AOC to update them while we chow down in the cafeteria?

Will the earlier show time result in more pay and different catering? More time on duty ... upgraded deadheads?

I wish the new SCP luck with this, it might be a big problem!*?

Now going on 2 hours to reinstall the database, and only half-way through! And from my home network.

Glad I didn't find this in the field after getting a trip revision.....

Probably none of the above.

Since the EFB is the primary anyway, they'll just get you a waiver and you'll be on your way.

I didn't know we had "spare" iPads on the airplane.

Deleting the app is severe overkill in most instances. Simply go to your iPad Settings and scroll down to JeppFD-Pro on the left column. Now scroll down on the right side until you see "Reset User Settings" and "Deactivate". Try the "Reset User Settings" option first by turning the switch to green. Now leave Settings and launch JeppFD-Pro and wait for a window asking if you want to reset. Acknowledge and your app is reset back to when it was new. You will lose saved routes but the app should work fine now.

For those that do delete the app, a good wifi internet connection should download all the enroute, terminal charts and manuals in well under 10 minutes. I've performed this update on many iPads. Anything longer is due to a slow connection. With that being said the "Pilot" and "AXS" network at the AOC is a slow network. I've seen up to 35 min. to download everything on that network.
