if these @ss clowns would just ask their front line managers, "tell me what you need to make the job more efficient and safe", they'd be amazed at the answers they would get. Instead, it's filtered through Sr Mgrs and MD's that are too afraid to tell the king he's not wearing any clothes. Who's is Jon Galt?

Atta Boys and Girls

It simply amazes me, when we get these 'atta boys and girls' letters from the company, every time we demonstrate how important, and effective we are in doing our jobs, which is instrumental in the success of this company, on a nightly basis, under adverse and challenging conditions. We get them every year during, and after the peak season, and during the year, whenever the weather causes massive disruptions to the system. Unfortunately, that is all we get. Do we get a timely contract that reflects our contribution the the company? Do we get enhancements to adequately compensate for the cost of living? Do we get the recognition and respect for the job we do, reflected in a fair and appropriate contract? No. We get a letter. (and on occasion, a free buffet during hub turns) In addition, we get letters asking us for more. Letters asking us for our help. All the while, trying to offer us concessions on our next contract, which will take away hard earned conditions and benefits.
Sometimes the letters are laughable. Sometimes they are insulting. (ok, most of the time, they are insulting) Rarely, if ever, are they worth reading, much less considering.
Talk is cheap. I guess the company thinks that it can get by with feeding us letters (and barbecue) every now and then, to keep us happy.
"Thanks for the superhuman efforts! Here's your pat on the back. Now excuse me while I go deposit my bonus check that you helped me earn".

Well said ...

And, my experience from numerous sincere suggestions ("We had a better way of doing this at Brand X.") found that "they" really weren't the slightest bit interested in what I had to say. They basically told me that to my face!*?

So ... I gave up. You don't really think they're the slightest bit interested in our deicing system improvements, do you?

When I was a young enthusiastic junior pilot there were many things that I didn't know who was responsible for taking care of, I just assumed that "they" would take of it. Now that I know who "they" are ... I'm worried.

Where's the love

Nearly every year I read an article, FDX package service will increase 2.2% on Jan 8 (+/- 7 days), College Education increased 6% year over year, Health Care went up 6% yoy, Corporate bonuses went up, FEX after tax profit went up from 1.56 Billion to 2.09 Billion (yes, that's a B)

FDX Annual Income Statement - FedEx Corp. Annual Financials

Yet management wants its decision makers in the Field to accept a Concessionary Contract?

I'll give you suggestions when you give me a Contract that pays for my contribution to your bonuses, raises, and Stock Options.

ABSOLUTELY! Where to a point where we need to make a stand here. When are we, as pilots, going to quit bailing out these *********S? Personally, I'm sick of the "atta boy" letters............show me the money.

How can an objectivist complain about anything a CEO/owner does with his company? If you don't like it, hit the road you bloodsucking taker!

It's not "his" company anymore. He went public and it is now a publicly traded company. There are many owners. And yes we can complain as we have a vested interest.
