Would love to, but only 200 of my 6,000 hours are turbine. And zero of those hours are turbine PIC. It will be a while yet...

If you ride on a classic make sure to wrap yourself in a full body condom....the FE's are all pervs.

The -400 looks a lot like a 75/76/77 flight deck. But with a full hand of throttle quadrant instead of just two fingers.

The Classic is a fascinating ride. A veritable time machine back to the '60s. Complete with a port for the Navigator(!) to take a sextant sighting. And a crusty old engineer with tales from the dark ages of aviation.
I've jumped on 75s and 76s, but a port for a sextant sighting? That, I've got to see.

Ever since I was a little kid and flew on Pan Am's round-the-world 001 trip (we did actually circle the entire globe, SFO-JFK-LHR-Delhi-HKG-HNL-SFO if I remember correctly) I've been utterly fascinated by the 74. Only prettier airplane, IMHO, is the L-1011. But nobody's flying them anymore, at least not anyone who's in CASS.

Riding up front in a 74 would be a dream come true for this 41-year-old kid.

I'm sure there are some interesting stories where that came from...

Atlas mins are now 2000 TT/500 turbine. No PIC required. So you are closer than you may think.

Now what will get you actually hired is another thing (and that seems to be in flux), but in any case you have to play to win.

Good luck.

I am about 50 hours away from 2000tt, and already have 1400 turbine. Almost time to apply!

K4 would probably take ya with what you have now. I won't lie, flying the -400 is awesome. All other issues aside, its cool to tick that box you made when you were a kid.

Ah, very interesting to know. I've been following the Atlas and Kalitta threads with interest. Thank you for the information!

If I ever actually got to fly a 74, regardless of the variant, I'd be grinning like the village idiot for a very long time.
