The real secret is that cargo pilots don't actually work very much at all. They do however, spend a lot of time on commercial jets, traveling in First Class from hither to yon, drinking free booze and eating only the best the airlines have to offer. And as such, they have to spend a lot of time waiting in those pesky passenger lines. Can you imagine the horror of it all. So, the Company, in its infinite wisdom, and in the best tradition of treating all cargo pilots as sky gods, instituted KCM, so that their loved and respected pilots could travel in the luxury that they so richly deserve. Any other questions?

I thought it was because the company doesn't want to be embarrassed by the guy who goes directly to the airport to dead head home after a week long pairing of hub turns and is drooling on himself, has blood shot eyes and 5 o'clock a.m. shadow, while standing in the normal security line.

Went through Dulles this morning. Odd placement for employee and KCM area (between baggage claim turnstyles 7 and 8 downstairs) but friendly TSA guy and sailed right through (with KCM card, for whatever that does).

KCM card just makes it easier for TSA. Instead of them having to type your info into the computer - scanning your card brings up your profile.
