Deadheading on the ME3

Curious how many of you deadhead on any of the ME3? Do you have a choice between a US carrier or Western European one?

I have used Emirates and Qatar a few times. I do have a choice in certain situations. Speaking specifically about business or first class travel: When I have a choice and routing, FF allegiance/miles or cost are not a factor, I’d choose either one of those over a US carrier every time.

I'm currently finishing a trip which had a schedule EK coach DH of about 2 1/2 hours (completed) and will fly home on UA from Asia to EWR in business class. Within 30 days I will also DH on BA intra Europe and DH first on EK from DXB to Europe.
All these sequences I have done before except the short coach EK flight I did recently. I wish I could say UA will wow me with their superior service, but I'm not holding my breath. I am certain the cabin crew at UA will be more seasoned  . I hope the age and experience of the UA cabin crews will add up to a better experience. I'll know soon enough.

As a senior MD-11 I was earning almost 300,000 frequent flyer miles a year for several years. I've flown on many (most?) International airlines First Class.

Emirates First Class was superior to ALL of them. It seemed as though it was a another class of service better than First Class. I would be eager to do it again any time!*?

My trip started with a d/h to DXB. There must have been an event in DXB as nearly every travel option to DXB was sold out. I was forced to take the scheduled HOU-DXB 16.5 hr flight. That's as good as airline travel gets!

Classy.

Well, for the record, I did say "I would", not "I have" and I have yet to make that choice. So far, all the times I've been on them were company scheduled DH segments that I was not in a position to alter. The one or two flights a year I might have a chance to choose Emirates or Qatar over a US carrier are hardly a blip on anyone's bottom line - so spare me the lecture.

I usually fly One World alliance when I have the choice and most of my business goes to AA. Of the 3 big US majors, I think their premium class service is superior. At least they still offer 3 class cabins on most of their long haul international flights. Can't say the same for UA or DL.

They all need to up their game. They're making money now - time to spend some of it. Those ME carriers aren't going anywhere and they've set the bar high. I think US carriers could give them a run if they were willing to make the right capital investments and changes to their service. Or, they can just complain to our politicians and keep providing a mediocre product.

It's people like you that caused the unnecessary deaths of Sihks in the aftermath of 9/11, since you can't distinquish between a Muslim and a non-Muslim person from the Middle East and Asia.

Actually it is people who killed the Sikhs who are responsible, please provide an example where someone convicted of such a crime.
