Nobody is flying the former FedEx bird. It's a gate guard. BCAD- Broward County Aviation Department.

N235FE, stored at FLL --PERMANENTLY--. Former N2824W of Western Airlines, a company bought by Delta. Fedex bought it in August of 1996, and they flew it as a cargo bird until parking it at FLL in April 2014. It will never fly again.

Well that's just terrible news. I don't want to watch them die and rot in the hot Florida sun. Someone put them on ebay or craigs list. I think they'll fit in my yard although the Home owners assoc might not be pleased!

I know my favorite Champion 727s are wasting away in OPF, and Walnut Ridge, Ark., we were blessed to fly them, the 727 was a Cadillac.

The good old -100... takeoff and land at 125kts and cruise at .88. No other airplane like it. Boeing quit building airplanes when they discontinued the 727 line.

Flew a -100 with an aft zone temperature system. Installed on some -100s when transitioning to the -200. Never too hot... never too cold... just right.
