iPad Case suggestions.
Company iPad case is crap. Can anybody recommend an iPad case that provides adequate protection but still works with the mounts that we have to use in the aircraft (Airbus)?

I use Apple's Smart Cover.
Very slim and super easy on off.
No protection, but light weight.
Or try Exogear Exoshift.
EXOGEAR iPhone & iPad Car Mount - "ExoShift for iPad and iPad mini" case transforms into a stand
I have that for my iPad mini.
Also slim, but does offer protection, and can do landscape and portrait.

****for the 757****
I use the Survivor case by Griffin Technology (@ Best Buy). While it isn't FAA approved as a stand alone mount, it can replace both types of EFBs in the 757 mount (way better than outer approved Velcro crap). It has a plastic clear cover over the screen and all ports are covered with a plastic plug. It comes in several loud colors which makes it harder to leave.
---- as a technique I put the EFB in my bag. If I try to leave without my iPad, the EFB cord reminds me to get my iPad.

The Otterbox case should fit in the ipad mounts. I use it on both my personal iPad and the Air Force issued one. It's heavy, but it's built like a tank. Yes, the company one is terrible, I just cracked my screen on the last trip.

I love my Logitech Aluminum Bluetooth Keyboard Case! It covers the screen completely with a protective hard shell and easily attaches/detaches magnetically on the side of the iPad with a hinge.
Once detached, you can use the iPad out by itself (or put it into a mount),
... OR you can use the slot in the cover just as base to stand it up,
... OR you can stand it up in the slot -AND- turn on the Bluetooth to make it work like a mini-laptop! The stand and/or keyboard functions are very helpful when I go back to recurrent training and I'm in a classroom environment or on layover when I want to use it to log online.
The silver finish matches the rest of the iPad and looks like an original Apple part! But you can also buy them in a black finish if you prefer.
Just for extra protection in my bag, I slip the whole thing into a padded, zippered iPad carrying bag, but that isn't necessary. I can pull it out of my bag, unzip, pull off the cover, and put it into the mount in less than 15 seconds.
I bought mine at Costco but don't know if they are still available there. The best price I found online is close to what they cost at Costco - about $70.

Thanks for the replies all. Just cracked my screen last week...
Ironically, I had called the company iPad reps about 3 weeks ago and asked for a new case because mine was shot. They told me that we would only be issued one case. I stated that it didn't make sense that they wouldn't provide me a new case, but they'd happily send me a new iPad if mine were damaged. The rep agreed with me, but still wouldn't send me another case (not even a gently used one).
Thanks again for the help.
