Abx & Ana

Any of you ABX guys know anything about an ANA contract???? Is it gonna happen and would they be calling guys back from furlough???

I've heard its a done deal. Just hasn't been officially announced yet. Rumors are March or April startup, 2 or 3 767s initially.

Haven't heard anything on recall/hiring, but I gotta believe its right around the corner. The DC9s seem to be slowly shrinking (I don't keep up with DC9 fleet numbers; maybe somebody can fill in with details there)
But 767 training has been pretty much nonstop since last spring, and will continue throughout this year. There's still 5 or 6 ex-Delta 767s to be delivered. And there is yet another 767 purchase thats rumored, I don't know how many or when.

Anyone go to the Thursday night/Friday morning meeting in ILN? If so, any interesting discussions there? Feel free to PM us if it's not public info.

Although my info is not first hand, and I don't have a dog in this fight, this is what my junior buddies at Abx tell me.....

Ana is rumored to be a done deal.....Plenty of Japanese people wandering around with flight management folks. But nothing official, and nothing being discussed with the union on how to "run it."

DHL will be having another schedule shake up this quarter, to include more through flights, more trucking and less service to cities. Think the Dakotas are next after MT and WYO.

This should amount to less Abx DC9 flying. (As always Astar will be fine)... (You wondered why no 9 Captain Proffer) How much is speculation, also depends on KRIV. But worse case scenario, is lots of lines, even best case is not great.

The DC9 is overstaffed in the right seat......10-15 guys may be?
After a shake up......who knows.....may be 30-40 guys.

The 8 is history, so those guys have to find a home. Just those folks alone can staff the new boeings that are coming, so although new aircraft is positive, adding 12 to a loss of 26 or 36 Aircraft is not growth. Abx is the incredible shring airline. From 850 pilots to 600 in 7 years.....maybe 500 in 9 years.

As far as recalls/hiring. Not a chance, the junior folks are just anticipating a re-furlough.

Ana is the wild card. Could change things!! So could age 60......

What's everyones thoughts? Fire at will!

All I meant is that your ACMI prevents parking of Aircraft. So that after a shake up, you still have the same amount of aircraft flying.

Post intergration, Astar has more flying and has hired. Not a grand ol time,
but better than parking a quarter of you fleet......am i missing something?

MAYBE ONLY FOR NOW. GIVE IT A FEW YEARS, MAYBE LESS, I DON'T SEE US GETTING 76s.

AVERAGE BLOCK HRS, WAY,WAY,WAY DOWN, COMPARED TO WHAT IT USED TO BE. TRANSLATION, MUCH LESS MONEY!

ABXGO 01-20-2007 04:33 PM

I Should Change My Name To Bitter. I Think I'm Getting More Bitter Than Bitter.

bitter 01-20-2007 04:43 PM

Is average block not down for both companies.....that is a by product of DHL, and there loss of business.

I hear they want 80 million more this year from the US flight ops!!

May be I should change my name from bitter to reality!!

Hey Bitter, You're not the one over at the cafeteria always eating bangers and mash, are you?

f&%$ DHL, Dumb Hun Losers. They ruined everything. I enjoy watching Hete telling them to stick it up their a$$ with their 1.75. Maybe Voltmeter can now blow sunshine every year with his "image is wearing the uniform for our best customer." Only this time it's ANA. Worst case scenario is DHL.
