FedEx- new bid
#23
Swinging for the fence again for vacancies...instead of more frequent smaller bids. Sounds like they are trying to lock-in training costs and the flexibility to put out a training letter before any changes to "filling of Vacancies" are locked in by a new TA. I'd expect a TA to be presented after this bid closes.
Remember, as DW once stressed..."Seat Progression is not a pay raise"

We've seen this before!*? During end stages of Contract Negotiations! It will be interesting to see if the training improvements in the new TA are retroactive?
Second verse, same as the first ... Management only wants 50% + 1 vote to ratify the a TA. It's likely that it's their intention to negotiate to that position?
I have to give the f/o's a TON of credit, they're usually pretty good about holding the line and doing what's best for ALL of us.
But will any of them look at the new WB Capt. pay rate (whatever that will be?) and say, "Hell yes, I'll vote for that!"

Everyone needs to keep their eyes wide open on this bid. Anyone wanna bet that the TA is going to come out sometime during the next few weeks? It would make perfect sense. Huge bid and massive progression...add in a TA that has some improvements, but maybe not everything that we'd like?
I'm just sayin', this is all good news. Keep our eyes on the ball here. It's about to get interesting. Bid what you want to fly, fly safe, and fly your contract.

Mgmnt will offer the MOAB's. In conjunction with this, a TA will miraculously appear. We'll be so blinded by the MOAB's, we'll sign a half-@ssed TA, and the company will shortly thereafter cancel the bid......because of lack of simulators/instructors.
yes, the glass is half empty.

We're such a bunch of suckers.
I've rode on the crew bus all week and guys are giddy as schoolgirls about this bid. I thought some guys were going to **** their pants from the excitement.
"Should I bid 757 Capt or 777 FO?"
"Will I be able to hold XYZ weekends/double DHs/PM O&Bs, blah, blah, blah....."
If we put that thought and effort into not picking up open time or flying the scheduled DH for ONE FRIGGING MONTH, we'd have a contract signed.
This is why our management has no respect for us. We do it to ourselves. I don't blame them for dragging their feet. I'd do the same thing if I were them.
