Have to laugh at this one, hmmm, boy Skeebo2's right--I sure have heard of tons of trips being cancelled due to a lack of Capts. Posting after posting just moaning about the Greed of all the FOs sucking up the draft trips.

Oh wait, no-that just doesn't match with what my lying eyes and hears have seen and heard.

Still, my verbiage was in reality somewhat of a hyperbole. In all honesty, I am confident that Some trips have been cancelled due to a lack of a Capt. But, most of the people I chat with in AOC or on the Crewbus are Capt's now...so, the conversations have reflected their reality. And, when I've been in Memphis during some challenging days--the vast, vast majority of the empty slots were FOs.

I, personally, do not think anyone should avoid an upgrade bid to "send a message". What I would recommend is considering whether you wish to upgrade to a "dying' airplane.
IMO-barring a desire to be on reserve in Memphis-being Junior on a growing fleet like the 76 is way better than bidding to be on the bottom of a shrinking fleet like the MD


Vacation Can'x 2 of my vacation periods have come and gone, without either of them being involuntarily canx'd. I have no doubt that some seat positions are worse than others, and I think it is worse on the FO side. Or, at least that's how it seems to be to me when I peruse total open time versus simply looking at the Capt's side
