What's up with all of the Hotel Standbys for MEM A300 in open time in June? Is it peak already?

They are probably way undermanned. They figure they will lure some people in by offering a free hotel room.

Just announced vacation cancellations in most seats in July. No thanks, going to visit a few national parks this summer.

It's not just A300.

Standard technique to deny trip drops and trades.

They don't need an excuse to deny trip drops or trades. These standbys are because they are short and hoping bozos will put themselves on reserve.

Try Trafalgar Tours "Scenic Parks Explorer." Did this a few years back and had the best 14 days exploring the western national parks. Unbelievable.

Unless the OP misspoke and meant Airport STBY, hotel STBY is just like a trip. Trade your crappy AM turns for a 11:30 time in the gym. Not going to help the manning situation as someone will still need to fly the jet while you watch TV at the hotel!! :D

I am pretty sure the company didn't build these XTRA MEM HTL STBY periods so guys can trade off trips to watch TV in the hotel. Given the current manning situation if anyone is foolish enough to fall for that then they get they deserve. Buyer Beware!!
