FDX 75 training

What is the status with 75 sim availability for training? Will there be offsite training due to simulator shortages?

There is off site training going on right now at DFW.

They just started it, this week. I would expect it to continue for a long time.

Are whole classes going or are they splitting between Memphis and Dallas?

Not sure. But right now there are 3 crews.. All Capt/Capt pairings.

Probably do your procedures events in Memphis then go to offsite for maneuvers if your lucky enough to go offsite.

Rumor was we wanted to buy that sim.

The next rumor: Even if they sold it to us we might not move it right away because it would then be unavailable for the period of the move and recert once on FedEx property.

I'm a new hire. I will be doing the procedure sims in MEM in the second half of June and my maneuver sims in DFW (early July) with someone who is upgrading.

Any more rumors from the crew bus drivers about using IcelandAir sims for CGN crews?

Last I heard there were problems with the FAA giving approval... Mostly because they don't have a HUD and one of the intended primary roles for that simulator was CMV/CLOEs.

One of the HKG F/Os I met at the training hotel left this past weekend for DFW. I think he is in an F/O-F/O pair but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Some of the HKG guys going to Dallas were saying the sim(s) they're using there do not have speed intervention. I'm not sure how that is possible or if it's even accurate but if that's the case, I would think the amount of negative training would be significant.
