Please help with UPS application

Does anyone have any input to the HR department??

I was working in my office this afternoon and finally saw the Flight Officer position posted. Out of fear of it disappearing (again), I began to fill out the application simply to get it on file and update it later (just like my '06 app which allows you to update it).

I had the majority of my flight experience in hand as I began to fill it out. However, I did not have a breakdown of a few of my jet types. I filled out everything I could, and then BAM!... it just accepted the application and gave me the message that I would not be tested any further.

The way I see it, unless they allow anyone to update the '07 app, I have just submitted my 2007 app without getting ALL of my jet experience listed.

Can anyone please help with this situation?!

Once you fill the application out, even if it's not complete you can not go back and udate until Jan of the following year. So, if you fill an app out in 2007, you can update it in Jan 2008. This is there "new" way.

You think they can make that perfectly clear "before" you enter the application?

This is insane. I have been extremely patient with this process... waiting for them to fix the glitches so I can get my application done. I updated my 2006 application over and over. Then, based on the snafu with the last application, I hurry to get my 2007 app started the minute I see it posted. All I wanted was an equal shot... the same opportunity as the next guy.

Now, here I sit, knowing I had a chance to be where I've always wanted to be in my aviation career. When a certain President decided to close military bases left and right a while back, I couldn't get the pilot slot I wanted in the military. So I borrowed a pretty big chunk of change (on top of everything I borrowed to go to college) and paid for all my civilian training. I've paid my dues and alot of money with hopes of ending up where I want to be. I thought I would at least have an equal chance at the future I hoped for me and my family. But now I basically have no chance to get there because someone decided to set up the online application process a little different this time around without telling anyone.

I'm sure I'll be labeled a whiner by many for this post. But this is a bit beyond unreasonable. I don't really have anyone close enough that can check with HR on this and I know it's a long shot, but is there anyone that could possibly take this issue to them and see if the application can be corrected?

Would sending a letter or calling HR have any impact at all?

I feel for ya! It's been frustrating for a lot of people. I have 4 people I am trying to help out and they all have gotten different responses from the website. I did find out from HR that they are working on the website so people can update, so eventually you will be able to. Good luck.

I believe you can input another app if you use a new email and phone #...

G3Driver 01-26-2007 07:28 PM

Thanks Slice, but that doesn't work. It detects your old info when you input your ss#.

Slice 01-26-2007 07:30 PM

Sorry, thought that worked for a friend of mine.

See... I knew it... the application has once again disappeared from the website.

would it detect that you were the same person if you accidently mistyped a digit of your social security number as you were filling the thing out? People make typos all the time
