ABX Air management refuses to recall 14

Used to be Airborne Express was a desirable career choice, back in the day...

I think it's safe to say that the incentive to pad a resume with the odd type rating (which once was common practice) and to "hang oneself out there" in the process is rapidly dwindling, given the current and forecasted hiring climate at the legacy airlines...

ABX Air is but an ACMI carrier now. An airline competing for a part of a niche market. Seasonal furlough notices regularly go out to the junior guys (junior guys with 15 years of seniority). Management threatens and concessions are made on the backs of the crews. However, a lot of crews are happy because money is good with the current staffing issues (Jr. manning) and there is good language in the CBA for that but the QOL is not what used to be there 10-15 years ago (wasn't it 16 days a month, racetracking multiple destinations i.e. getting home every day for some people and plenty of 4 day week ends?).
I'm not going to argue that there may be some pilots out there that think flying at ABX Air is the way to a solid airline career somewhere else. It would just seem that the options have vastly improved and are on the rise.
