UPS Interview Process
 

Hello folks...I'm new to this thread and would like to pose a question to any interested UPS perspectee concerning the 2007 interview process. Like of you, it took me a few tries to re-applied in the new 2007 rendition, but I was finally able to get in. To my surprise, I was contacted within a few days via email by HR and advised that my resume has been reviewed and was invited to the next stage. The second stage was taking an online assessment (appears to be a psychological eval) and now standing by for further information. I've never heard of this process being utilized before on any UPS thread. My question then is this a new process at UPS and has anybone else received this same notification? If so, how long before being contacted for an on site interview after completing assessment or being told something else otherwise?

Guys,

UPS buddy of mine talked to another UPS buddy who got the latest from the HR folks. It goes like this. They open up the online application and once they get 100 "qualified applicants" (don't know that definition) they shut down the online app website. They then go thru and will interview/hire/not-hire 0-100 of that "pool". Once they are done with these 100 dudes they then re-open the online app. website to get their next 100 and so on. No real time frame when this happens, they could need another 100 tomorrow or in several months. So just keep checking the website frequently to put your stuff in or update it as applicable. Clear as mud? That's all I know.

So it seems like there is no real point in updating your online app. Either you are "qualified", or you are not - so would it be a better strategy to just put in a new app (with new email address) everytime the window opens with any updates you may have? Seems like doing it this way would guarantee your app will be looked at every time.

If what's stated above is true, I guessed we're one of the lucky 1st 100 tagged for the process. Good to know that someone else is going thru the same process. If you get words for an on-site interview, please post hear and I'll do same. For now, we'll continue to play waiting game.

I am right there with you guys, I completed the "online process" on the 31st.

Funny thing is, I was flying with a guy today who said he took the exact same test for the FFDO program. He said he was not a risk taker and did not want to skydive or go mountian climbing, but he does like scuba diving. :D

What da ya mean by "tooling the test?" Is there a correct way to answer the assessment questions? For me, I'd answered the same way the FFDO applicant did (no to jumping out of airplanes and climbing rocks...yes to looking at fish). Hopefully, they won't bank too much on how you answer but how consistent you are. At times, I almost feel like I contradict one answer with another.

weird that this place doesn't want a pool of applcants, but does want a pool of hirees.
